An exciting vacancy has arisen for a Strategic Buyer to join the Procurement team at which is part of the wider Finance team.
The Strategic Buyer's role is a newly created role, required to support the Head of Procurement as well as providing an opportunity for a keen and enthusiastic individual with procurement experience to further enhance their career within the Financial Services sector.
The Strategic Buyer will be working with purchasing and other managers to source goods and services at optimum cost, including:
- Understanding and analysing current/future expenditure
- Developing, validating and understanding current/future requirements
- Developing procurement strategies for different sourcing categories and business case formulation
- Leading tendering activities and evaluations
- Negotiating best value
- Negotiating and completing contractual documentation
- Implementing new agreements
- Supplier management, including managing risk in the supply base
Additional activities include:
- Monitoring of business compliance to the clients Procurement Policy
- Monitoring and reporting of purchasing activity (from the new purchasing system)
- Identifying and implementing improvements in the purchase to pay process and systems involved
- Providing monthly internal expenditure reports by purchasing department/ category /supplier
For this exciting opportunity, the ideal candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Strong PC skills Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MS Outlook
- Self organisation and attention to detail
- Project management skills
- Financial acumen
- Indirect man management
- Enthusiasm, keenness to learn about new categories
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
