The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) is the leading debt management charity in the UK. Its purpose is to assist people who are in financial difficulty by providing free, independent, impartial and realistic advice. CCCS has seen a huge increase in the demand for its services over recent years. As a result it is continually expanding to ensure it can meet the needs of all individuals who have debt problems and require help and advice.

CCCS is committed to utilising technology to introduce innovative services, deliver effective repayment solutions and provide best advice. We are currently seeking an experienced Systems Development Manager to lead a team of application development specialists who deliver products to agreed specification and standards within a project-based environment.

As Systems Development Manager you will need:

. Thorough understanding of the Business Change Architecture.
. Proven track record in planning and delivering a variety of applications solutions, including both small and large-scale change.
. As this role sits on the Senior Management Team you will need a strong ability to understand business issues and contribute to providing solutions.
. Experience of managing an application development team.
. Experience and a good understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle, preferably within a Prince 2 project environment.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work and influence effectively within the business environment.
. Effective problem solving and presenting recommendations to all levels of audience.

The key aspects of the Systems Development Manager role are:

1. Strategic - develop 3 year plans that support the business strategy and facilitate a continual improvement programme.
2. Management - candidates will need experience of managing costs, estimating, resource planning and career management of staff.
3. Demonstrable technical background in Application Development and Project Management.
4. Proven track record of management and delivery of IT Projects of various size and complexity.
5. Ability to plan, schedule and prioritise and be adaptable to change.
