The company currently has an excellent opportunity for skilled Metallurgists to join the team in Sheffield.
The post holders will be responsible for preparing manufacturing routes for quotation (draft) and production (detailed) purposes. You will document detailed heat treatment processes for each product whilst defining and controlling the metallurgical / engineering requirements on all material and subcontract purchase orders. You will be expected to review and approve receipt of raw material based on certification, testing and purchase order requirements.
You will define, launch and monitor sample and development products in support of customer orders and product / process development. With this in mind, you will be required to liaise closely with customers to resolve any process and specification issues before order acceptance. In this role you will also be expected to actively pursue cost reduction opportunities through refinement of methods and increased process capability.
The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in metallurgy or materials science and will ideally have experience of working in an industrial environment. It is essential that you possess good report writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
Located in Sheffield, this role is commutable from areas such as Rotherham, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Macclesfield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
